Teplore Commissions 540kW/1.06MWh Hybrid Microgrid to Tackle Dutch Grid Congestion

Share

Teplore has officially commissioned a 540kW/1.06MWh hybrid microgrid for a commercial mushroom farm in the Netherlands, providing a vital solution to the country’s severe grid congestion (Netcongestie).

The project was designed to overcome a critical infrastructure bottleneck: the local grid could not provide enough capacity for the farm's high-power industrial compressors, and utility expansion was expected to take years. Teplore’s solution allowed the client to bypass this delay and expand operations immediately.

The Hybrid System Integration

The microgrid creates an autonomous energy ecosystem by synchronizing multiple power sources:

  • 1.06MWh Teplore BESS: Provides peak shaving and system stability.

  • 1MW Solar PV: Delivers clean, primary energy generation.

  • 1MW Diesel Generator: Ensures 24/7 backup and peak load support.

  • ComAp Microgrid Controller: Manages intelligent synchronization across all assets.

Strategic Impact

By deploying this decentralized system, the farm has secured energy independence and operational stability while significantly reducing energy costs. This project serves as a practical blueprint for Dutch agricultural and industrial businesses currently stuck in the grid expansion queue.

"Our goal is to ensure that businesses can grow without being limited by infrastructure delays," stated Teplore. "This project demonstrates that intelligent storage can bridge the gap between renewable energy goals and current grid realities."

The successful commissioning in the Netherlands reinforces Teplore’s expansion across Europe, delivering high-performance energy storage solutions tailored to complex regional challenges.
